I love Penang!

One of the places in Malaysia that I would love to visit is Penang, and here I am in Penang.

To start off, Penang is a state in Malaysia where it is divided into island and mainland. The most well-known place in Penang is Georgetown. I have been there three times before in 20

I landed in Penang on 5 January, which is two days before the beginning of internship. I rented a condominium in a place called Bayan Lepas, Penang, which is near to the airport. My workplace is 10 minutes away from my place by taking car.

Anyway, I visited Georgetown, the capital of Penang state, with my friend.

I tried out some great food, which is listed below with photographs:

1. Cendol

Green grass jelly with shaved ice, red beans and palm sugar. It is very delicious. It costs RM3 (3 Malaysian Ringgits which is US$0.73) per bowl. Worth the price. I have tried it twice.

Penang Road Famous Teochew Cendol. Try it if you are going to Penang!

2. Curry noodles

Yellow noodles in curry shop with bean sprouts, cuttlefish, etc. The soup and noodles are really tasty. One of the food that must be tried in Penang.

3. Fried Kueh Teow, known as Char Kuey Teow in Chinese

Rice noodles fried with soya sauce, prawns, bean sprouts, clam, scallion and eggs. It is really good. Me and my friend took a e-hailing car from our respective places to enjoy some local food.

4. Kueh Teow soup

Rice noodles in soup with meat, vegetable, egg, etc. The branch I ate at is served with lemon, which is good in soothing your throat. The location is three minutes away from my workplace where I am doing my internship at.

I went to other places, such as hipster cafes, where coffee and western-style food are served to customers. Do you know that the interior of some vintage cafes looks very old on the inside with trees but very beautiful?

Strawberry dipped pancake. Yay
Some nice place and nice food. This is old interior but beautiful with trees.

We went to a place called Chew Jetty, a jetty near to the sea. The locals there sold food and items on the jetty. One more thing, the photo of me you see on the very above there, yes, that is the Chew Jetty. Spectacular view, isn’t it?

Finally, that’s all for today. I will come up with more articles on this wonderful place in the near future. Stay tuned.

P/S: This is the first article I wrote in 2019. I haven’t been writing in a while. Hence, I am back into writing!
